Custom Made Roman Blinds

All of our custom made roman blinds are made to measure and a consultant will help you choose from our extensive range of fabric styles and colours / designs to find a fabric that perfectly matches your existing decor.

We use top quality, hardwood dowels when constructing our Roman Blinds, and all custom made blinds are manufactured on the premises in our dedicated machine room and studio here at Huonville.

All our custom made roman blinds are fitted by trained, professional fitters to ensure you will be fully satisfied with the result.

Holland Blinds

These blinds are the standard 'roller' blinds that have been used for many years successfully. They utilise either spring-loaded pull cords or the more superior ratchet cord mechanism to ensure that the blind is placed in exactly the right position.

These blinds are excellent at reducing light levels into the house, and can be sourced in a large number of colours, designs and fabrics to suit your needs. Examples of this would be to supply a blind with a 'block-out' fabric to prevent sunlight penetration, or a thermal backed fabric to prevent heat loss and to keep the house warmer.

Traditional appearance with 'scallops and braid' and more modern designs are available, based on an aluminium frame system for lightweight and corrosion resistance, and can be ordered with motorised operation for hard to reach areas or simply for your convenience

Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds have successfully made the transition from a commercial beginning to become a beautiful addition to today's modern living where large height windows are more popular. They form not only an effective privacy barrier but also offer different levels of lighting effect by the use of both opaque and semi-transparent materials.

These latter fabrics create a very ambient atmosphere and also help to minimise direct sunlight without comprimising on light levels.

Their vertical nature coupled with the simple tilt operation, come together to create a blind system which is quick and easy to cover a large area of window, at varying angles to suit the user. They are available with link chains or chainless weights for a more minial appearance, and come in standard widths.

Slimline Blinds

These blinds are a hybrid design of the classic 'Venetian' design, and can be used to effectively fill smaller, more narrow windows. With a wide range of quality finishes and colours such as metallic options, these blinds are the perfect compliment to your decor.

They have a 25mm thick slat and have a premium thickness of only 0.22mm, which ensures that the blind can retract into itself with very little loss of vision.

Sunscreen Blinds

Sunscreen blinds have been manufactured to a high standard of specification to ensure that the blind allows the user to remain able to see through the blind but whilst providing some sheilding of the sun rays. They effectively form a 'tinting' effect for the window without the necessary price and time implications associated with replacement tinted windows.

They also add to the room's energy efficiency by reducing heat in summer and insulating in the winter. The U.V. stablised fabric used protects furniture, artwork and other fade prone products from the sun's bleaching effect.

Norfolk's range of 'Sunscreen' blinds are also fire retardent and are simple to clean and maintain.

Cedar Blinds

At Timeless Design we deal exclusively with Norfolk's premium Western Red Cedar Venetian range as they are produced from only the finest grade of timber and highest quality fixtures, to give years of service.

Western Red Cedar is the best possible material to create a wooden blind from as the material is rot, decay and insect resistant. It also possesses an even grain and consistency which prevent the blind warping or deforming, even in the most inhospitable of climates. Mate this with it's glorious renowned aroma and shade capabilities and you have the recipe for one of our most popular blinds.

The wood can be either finished with lacquer or left in a 'duroil' natural finish which is water resistant, and they make the perfect compliment for either a modern or traditonally styled home. We offer various different styles and types which can either be fitted with textile tapes with matching tilt and lift cords or heavy duty ladder string and braided lifting cords.

Louvolite Panel Blinds

These blinds are the latest in modern living and offer a more 'screen' based blind. They make a stunning visual effect with the use of various technical transparent and semi-transparent fabrics, as well as traditional natural materials.

Essentially they operate like a sliding door and can be composed of different colours to make the ultimate fashion statement. With their easy to use controls and clean cut appearance, they will enhance the larger window areas of your house such as patio doors and large windows. But they have also been successfully used as instant room dividers to great effect and to offer high levels of privacy.

The unique subtle ambient lighting conditions created by these blinds are due to mixture of material and design which filters the sun rays without reducing light levels.

Pleated and Cellular Blinds

Pleated blinds allow a simple and efficient method of controlling light levels entering a room. They are based on a concertina 'Z' pattern of material and come in a large range of sizes and colours. Different fabrics and designs can be specified so that they accurately match the surrounding decor without blowing the budget.

Cellular blinds are similar to 'pleated' but essentially integrate 2 separate 'pleated' blinds together to form a diamond cellular structure in cross-section. This allows the use of two fabrics - the 'interior' fabric (which faces into the house) can be chosen to suit the colour or style of the surrounding room whilst the 'exterior' fabric (facing the window) can be chosen in a more techincal fabric to minimise light pentration or to offer an increased thermal capability.

Motorised Blinds

This is an additional option available to most blind types which allow remote operation using electric motors. This is extremely useful when the blind is situated in an inaccessible place for operation or when the user has health problems.
